At Hadassah Medical Organisation, research is integral to treatment. Most of the doctors, and an increasing number of the nurses, conduct basic and clinical research programmes in addition to tending to their patients. We have become recognised as a world leader in researching and treating a wide range of complicated medical issues. In a country that is so scientifically and technologically advanced, we are responsible for 50% of all clinical research. We publish twice as many papers as any other Israeli hospital.

Programmes are currently focusing on fighting Cancers, Juvenile Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and Geriatrics.

Hadassah’s Heart Institute is working on new ways to prevent heart attacks and at how to keep survivors free of future complications. Specialists are looking at coronary artery disease in women, a previously neglected area of research. We have been recognised for our revolutionary cancer work in creating an individualised vaccine to fight the recurrence of melanoma.

Once Hadassah scientists come up with the answers, Hadasit Ltd, the medical centre’s research and marketing subsidiary, concentrates on making the results more widely accessible. Crossing the chasm from excellent science to real business.
