Global Outreach
The benefits of medicine should transcend politics, religion and national boundaries. The Hadassah Medical Organisation puts that philosophy into practice.
Hadassah continually reaches out with emergency relief and specific rescue missions in the aftermath of natural and geopolitical crises. For example, our ongoing work in the AIDS orphanages of Ethiopia.
Our doctors also regularly perform eye surgery in remote regions. Over one million Africans thank Hadassah for their eyesight.
In fact, we have been granted special consultative status as a non governmental organisation on the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
Closer to home, a major focus is on bringing first class medical attention to our Palestinian neighbours.
In addition to providing day to day health care Hadassah Medical Organisation has launched a number of specific projects in partnership with The St John’s Eye Hospital, the Peres Centre for Peace, Augusta Victoria Hospital and the Red Crescent Hospital of Jerusalem.
In recognition of our exemplary role in a troubled region, the Hadassah Medical Organisation was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Hadassah Medical Organisation’s mission has been to extend the benefits of modern health care. Its global outreach programmes have expanded to countries in Africa, Asia, The Pacific, The Balkans, Central Asia and Latin America.
